When I first arrived at Hunter’s beautiful home in German Village, I was in love with her energy! She was such an exuberant pup with so much life and willingness to learn. Initially, she had some issues with jumping on guests and counter surfing. We spent the next six weeks working extensively on basic commands, polite greetings and problem behaviors. Here’s what Hunter’s owners had to say:
When we had gotten our Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy, we had no idea what we were getting into. After calling numerous trainers, we had chose Megan. Megan stood out with her approach to training; by focusing on positive reinforcement in a flexible way that was designed around our specific needs. Each week, Megan would work with us to determine what our dog was struggling with and what we wanted to focus on in the future. She customized each session to suit our needs and address any behavioral issues we had. In addition to helping us train our 10 month old Rhodesian Ridgeback, she also helped train us to know what we should be doing and why different things would achieve different responses from our puppy. After each session, Megan provided us with “homework” to do before her next visit. Throughout the entire process, we could tell that Megan truly cared for our puppy and wanted to help us learn what we should be doing.
Overall, we would strongly recommend working with Megan. In addition to our 6 week obedience classes, we have chosen to have her help us work with our puppy to achieve the canine good citizen certification.
After completing the puppy package, we felt she was ready for the next step. After spending another six weeks practicing in public, she was able to take the AKC Canine Good Citizen test. She passed with flying colors! Hunter’s people got married shortly after we completed training and I REALLY enjoyed seeing Hunter in the engagement and wedding announcement pictures! Great job guys!
